Excitement and Anticipation: The learning journey typically begins with excitement and anticipation as you receive your acceptance letter and prepare to leave your home state/country. You would typically research SAHE, the city you will be living in (Sydney), and start making travel plans.
Visa and Documentation: This phase involves obtaining the necessary student visa, organising financial documentation, and ensuring you have all the required paperwork in order to study abroad.
Cultural Preparation: As part of your preparations, you might engage in cultural research and language courses to adapt to the Australian culture and improve your English language skills.
Arrival in Australia: Upon arrival, there’s a mix of excitement and nervousness. You arrive at your campus and city, where you will be greeted by university staff or fellow students.
Orientation Week: SAHE hosts an orientation week, which includes campus tours, information sessions, and social events to help you settle in and get acquainted with their new environment.
Enrolment: You will be guided to enrol into subjects and receive access to subject pages on the Learning Management System (Canvas). Using the system, you will receive updates from your lecturer, submit assessments and receive your grades and feedback. Be sure to familiarise yourself with all important course information available on Canvas.
Coursework and Studying: The core of the learning journey involves attending lectures and tutorials. You will engage in coursework, participate in group activities, and interact with lecturers and peers from diverse backgrounds.
Extracurricular Activities: Beyond academics, the you may volunteer in not-for-profit organisations, attend networking events, and participate in industry engagement activities to gain practical experience in areas of interest.
Independence: Living independently fosters self-reliance and independence. You will learn to manage your time and finances, cook, and navigate daily life in a new culture.
Cultural Immersion: As you immerse yourself in the Australian culture, making friends from diverse backgrounds, trying new foods, and exploring the city and surrounding areas, you will learn to appreciate the diversity that Australia offers.

Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
